Welcome!

This website includes many resources to help you learn about your DSM benefits and to assist you in your benefit election choices. Remember, you have 30 days from your date of hire to enroll in benefits.

You will receive a New Hire letter with important information about your DSM benefits coverage, how to enroll and the timing of when you will receive additional materials including ID cards.

In addition to the New Hire letter, look for an enrollment kit from Fidelity Investments providing you information on our DSM 401(k) retirement benefits.

Eligibility for Coverage

DSM’s U.S. nonbargained employees and Engineering Plastics Bargaining Unit employees regularly working 20 or more hours per week and their eligible dependents may participate in DSM health and welfare benefits immediately upon hire, with the exception of short-term disability (STD).

STD is available three months from the date of hire.

Additionally, DSM Engineering Plastics Bargaining Unit employees are not eligible for basic accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD) coverage.

You will also receive basic life insurance, basic AD&D insurance, short-term disability (three months from date of hire), core long-term disability, business travel accident insurance, and Employee Assistance Program benefits. Your next opportunity to enroll in benefits will be during our Annual Enrollment, held each year in the fall, unless you experience a qualifying life event, such as a birth or a marriage.

Save for the future

You can invest for retirement through easy payroll deductions through the DSM USA Defined Contribution Plan.

You are immediately eligible to enroll on your date of hire. You will receive an enrollment kit from Fidelity Investments providing you information on our DSM 401(k) retirement benefits. If you don’t take any enrollment action — either enrolling or opting out — within 90 days of becoming eligible, you will be automatically enrolled, and 3% of your eligible before-tax pay will be invested in the Target Retirement Fund that most closely matches your retirement date, based on an assumed retirement age of 65. You may change your contribution rate and investment elections at any time.

*Eligible DSM employees may participate in the DSM USA Defined Contribution Plan. Engineering Plastics Bargaining Unit employees are eligible for the DSM Engineering Plastics, Inc. Bargaining Unit Employees’ Incentive Savings Plan.
